ABOUT MESHA MAINOR

Mesha Mainor is a lifelong Georgian, born and raised in Atlanta with deep family ties to Dooly County. From a young age, she understood the impact of zip codes on opportunity. When her mother couldn’t secure a quality public education due to where they lived, she resorted to using a family member’s address: an experience that shaped Mesha’s lifelong commitment to educational quality and opportunity.
Mesha grew up in a family rooted in service. Her grandfather served in the U.S. Navy as a Navy Seabee, and he helped build homes and churches across Atlanta’s west side. She continues to witness her mother’s work alongside local leaders and churches to combat crime and poverty. That example sparked Mesha’s own civic engagement, eventually leading her to run for office, win a seat in the Georgia House of Representatives, and become one of the state’s most independent voices: always putting principles before party.
As a mother of two and physical therapist turned small business owner, Mesha brings real-world experience to public service. She founded a cutting-edge language immersion school after struggling to find quality care for her children and launched the Junior Business League to help disadvantaged youth build professional skills.
Now, Mesha is running for Georgia State Superintendent of Schools because she believes every child deserves access to a high-quality education, regardless of their background or zip code. She’ll bring transparency, accountability, and bold leadership to Georgia’s education, expanding school choice, strengthening career and technical education, and ensuring schools are safe, focused on academics, and free from political agendas. If Georgia is the #1 state to do business, we must also be #1 in education.
